Instructions

Preparation

  • Cover the dough with a towel and let it rise in a warm spot for about one hour or until doubled in size.

Shaping and Boiling Pretzels

  • Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Divide dough into eight pieces and roll each into a long rope, twisting into a pretzel shape.
  • Boil 10 cups of water, add baking soda, and gently place each pretzel into the water for about 30 seconds.
  • Transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet and brush with the egg wash, sprinkling with coarse sea salt.
  • Bake for 12 to 14 minutes until golden-brown.

Making Cheese Dip

  • Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat, whisk in flour, and gradually add milk, stirring until thickened.
