Ingredients

Salad Components

  • 30 g chopped walnuts for a crunchy, nutty contrast.
  • 2–3 pieces ripe pears, unpeeled, cored, and sliced sweet and juicy, providing the main flavor profile.
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice adds brightness and prevents browning.
  • 2 tablespoons honey natural sweetness that enhances the pears.
  • 30 g butter for rich caramelization.
  • 2 handfuls peppery arugula the perfect peppery base.
  • 100 g blue cheese, crumbled creamy, tangy goodness that elevates the dish.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by slicing the ripe pears and placing them in a bowl. Drizzle them with fresh lemon juice and honey, tossing gently to coat all the slices evenly.
  • Next, heat a dry non-stick pan over medium heat. Add the chopped walnuts and toss them frequently for about 3–4 minutes until they become fragrant and golden. Once done, transfer them to a plate and set aside.

Caramelization

  • In the same pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the honey-coated pears. Cook these slices for 5–7 minutes, turning occasionally until they are caramelized and luscious.

Assembly

  • To assemble, arrange the peppery arugula on individual plates. Top with the warm caramelized pears, then sprinkle the crumbled blue cheese and toasted walnuts over the top.
  • Serve immediately with a drizzle of balsamic glaze or a touch of extra honey for added sweetness.

Notes

To enhance your salad, consider adding a pinch of salt or freshly cracked black pepper. A sprinkle of fresh herbs can elevate the flavors. Substitute blue cheese with goat cheese for a milder flavor. Store leftover components separately for up to three days.
