Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
  • Gradually add the warm milk, melted butter, and the egg into the mixture. Stir until combined.

Kneading

  • Knead the mixture by hand or using a dough hook until it transforms into a smooth and elastic dough, about 5–7 minutes.

Rising

  • Cover the bowl and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.

Shaping

  • Once risen, punch the dough down and divide into small portions. Flatten each piece, place a cube of cheese in the center, and fold to form a ball.

Frying

  • Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  • Fry the cheese-filled dough balls in batches for about 2–3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.

Coating and Serving

  • Mix sugar and ground cinnamon in a bowl. Roll warm donuts in this mixture until coated.
  • Serve immediately while warm.
