Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Cut the croissants into halves or thirds and arrange them in the baking dish, layering with chocolate chips.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Pour the custard mixture evenly over the croissants, pressing down gently.
  • Let the dish sit for about 10 minutes to soak up the custard.

Baking

  • Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25–30 minutes until the top is golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Use day-old croissants for better absorption. Experiment with different chocolate types, or add fruits/nuts for variation. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
