Ingredients

Seafood Filling

  • 1 cup lump crab meat, drained and picked over
  • 3/4 cup cooked shrimp, chopped
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon chopped dill (optional) can be substituted with other fresh herbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning (optional) can substitute with other herbs/spices
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Salmon Fillets

  • 4 pieces thick salmon fillets, skin-on or skinless
  • 1 slices Lemon slices, for topping

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish to prevent the fish from sticking.
  • In a large bowl, stir together the crab meat, chopped shrimp, softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon zest, minced garlic, parsley, dill, Old Bay seasoning (if using), along with salt and pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.
  • Slice a pocket into each salmon fillet, taking care not to cut through completely. Season both sides of the fillets lightly with salt and pepper for added flavor.
  • Stuff each pocket with the seafood mixture. If necessary, use toothpicks to secure the opening, ensuring none of the delicious filling escapes while baking.
  • Place the stuffed fillets into your greased baking dish and top each one with a slice of lemon.

Cooking

  • Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily and reaches an internal temperature of 125°F (52°C).
  • For an additional touch, you can broil the fillets for 2 minutes at the end to achieve a beautiful, bubbly top.
  • Let the salmon rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a sprinkle of smoked paprika or fresh lemon juice to the stuffing. Experiment with different seafood varieties to elevate the dish and try different herbs in your stuffing. Serve drizzled with a light garlic butter or dill sauce.
