  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened Brings richness and creaminess that binds the filling.
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Melts perfectly to add stringy goodness and a mild flavor.
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise Enhances the creaminess while bringing everything together seamlessly.
  • 1 tbsp fresh chives, chopped Adds a touch of freshness and a mild onion flavor.
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder Infuses the filling with aromatic warmth.
  • 1/2 tsp Old Bay seasoning Elevates the flavor profile beautifully.

For the Rolls

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough Provides the flaky, buttery exterior that we adore.
  • 1 egg beaten (for egg wash) Ensures a shiny, golden finish on the rolls.
  • 1 tbsp Everything Bagel seasoning (or sesame seeds & garlic flakes) Adds crunch and flavor to the beautifully baked crescent rolls.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the lump crab meat, softened cream cheese, shredded mozzarella, mayonnaise, fresh chives, garlic powder, and Old Bay seasoning. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. The filling should be creamy, slightly chunky, and bursting with flavor.

Assembling

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Open the can of crescent dough and separate it into individual triangles.
  • Spoon a small amount of the prepared crab filling onto the wider end of each triangle.
  • Carefully roll the dough around the filling, starting at the wide end and tucking in the sides to enclose the mixture.

Baking

  • Using a pastry brush, apply the beaten egg over each rolled crescent for a beautiful golden color.
  • Sprinkle with Everything Bagel seasoning for an extra burst of flavor.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 12 to 15 minutes, or until the rolls are puffed and golden brown.

Serving

  • Let the baked rolls cool slightly before serving.
  • These delectable treats are divine on their own but can be paired with garlic butter or a squeeze of lemon aioli for dipping.

Notes

For a chef's twist, consider adding a dash of cayenne pepper to the filling for a gentle kick. You can also substitute different cheeses, like cheddar or pepper jack, for varied flavor profiles. If you want to elevate the presentation, serve the rolls with a sprinkle of fresh herbs for a fresh touch.
