Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  • Grease a baking dish generously.
  • Arrange the onion slices in a single layer within the dish and drizzle with olive oil.
  • Sprinkle with freshly chopped thyme, salt, and pepper.

Roasting

  • Roast the seasoned onions in the oven for approximately 20 minutes.

Cream Sauce Preparation

  • In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until just simmering.
  • Stir in the Dijon mustard and half of the grated Asiago cheese, mixing until the cheese is melted.

Final Baking

  • Once the onions are roasted, pour the creamy mixture over them.
  • Sprinkle the remaining Asiago cheese on top.
  • Cover the baking dish with foil and return to the oven for an additional 20 minutes.

Notes
