  • 2 teaspoons dried dill Adds a herby essence that complements the dish.
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder Enhances all savory flavors.
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika Contributes a mild smokiness.
  • 1 cup salsa verde Provides zesty, tangy depth.
  • 2 tablespoons pickled jalapeños (optional) For those who enjoy a little heat.
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste Essential seasonings to enhance flavors.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a spacious baking dish, combine the boneless chicken breasts or thighs with softened cream cheese, dried parsley, dried chives, dried dill, garlic powder, and paprika. Season this mixture generously with salt and pepper.
  • Add the chopped onion and salsa verde to the chicken mixture. If you're a fan of spice, toss in the pickled jalapeños. Pour in the heavy cream or coconut milk, mixing everything until well incorporated. Add about 1/2 cup of grated parmesan cheese.
  • Place slices of cold, salted butter on top of the chicken mixture. Evenly spread the chopped broccoli over the entire mixture.

Cooking

  • Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30-40 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
  • Gently stir everything together for easy serving.
  • Before serving, sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of parmesan cheese on top and return it to the oven for a few more minutes if you’d like it extra melty.

Serving

  • Serve hot over rice or orzo for a delicious meal.

Notes

For a lighter version, consider using Greek yogurt instead of cream cheese. To add more vegetables, consider incorporating sliced bell peppers or spinach. Marinate the chicken overnight with spices for enhanced flavor.
