  • 1 small red chili (optional, for spice) Adds playful heat to the dish.

For the Spiced Vinegar Dip

  • 1/2 cup white vinegar Provides zesty brightness.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Introduces aromatic complexity.
  • 1 small red chili, sliced For added kick.
  • 1/2 tsp sugar (optional) Balances the acidity of the vinegar.
  • 1/4 tsp salt Enhances the dip's flavors.

  • Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat until it shimmers.

Cooking

  • Gently add the dried fish to the hot oil and fry for approximately 2-3 minutes per side, until crispy and golden brown.
