Instructions

Preparation

  • Add the beef stew meat and sliced mushrooms to your slow cooker.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  • Pour the creamy sauce over the beef and mushrooms in the slow cooker.

Cooking

  • Cover the slow cooker and set it to low heat for about 8 hours.
  • Just before serving, stir everything gently to coat the meat and mushrooms with the sauce.

Notes

For an extra layer of flavor, add a splash of Worcestershire sauce or a pinch of red pepper flakes. For a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch with water and stir in during the last 30 minutes of cooking. Searing beef chunks before adding them to the slow cooker enhances flavor.
