Ingredients

For the Pistachio Filling

  • 1 cup roasted pistachios (unsalted) Provides essential flavor and texture for the filling.
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar Adds sweetness to balance the nutty pistachios.
  • 2 tbsp honey A natural sweetener that adds gloss and moisture.

  • 2–3 tbsp heavy cream Creates a luxurious filling.

For the Phyllo Bites

  • 10 sheets phyllo dough, thawed The star ingredient for flaky texture.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted For brushing and layering the phyllo.
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips or chopped chocolate For dipping.
  • 1 tsp coconut oil Helps to smooth the chocolate for dipping.
  • 1 tbsp crushed pistachios For garnish.

Instructions

Filling Preparation

  • In a food processor, pulse the roasted pistachios, powdered sugar, and cardamom until finely ground.
  • Add honey and heavy cream one tablespoon at a time, pulsing until it forms a thick paste.

Phyllo Dough Preparation

  • Lay one sheet of phyllo on a clean surface and brush it with melted butter.
  • Layer another sheet on top and repeat with two more sheets, totaling four.
  • Cut the layered dough into long strips, approximately 3 inches wide.

Filling and Folding

  • Place a teaspoon of pistachio filling at one end of each strip.
  • Fold the dough over to create a triangle shape, brushing each fold with butter to seal.
  • Place the folded triangles on a baking sheet, ensuring they’re not touching.

Baking

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 18–20 minutes until golden brown.
  • Remove from oven and let cool completely.

Dipping and Garnishing

  • Melt dark chocolate with coconut oil until smooth.
  • Dip corners or half of each triangle in chocolate and sprinkle with crushed pistachios.
  • Allow the chocolate to set on parchment paper.

Notes

Work quickly with phyllo to avoid drying. Experiment with spices and fillings for variety. Can be made ahead of time and baked when ready to serve.
