  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar Sweetens the cream cheese.
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract Adds a warm depth to the mixture.
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, thinly sliced Provides a burst of freshness.
  • 2 tbsp strawberry jam (optional) For extra strawberry flavor.

For the Sandwiches

  • 4 slices brioche or white sandwich bread Soft, fluffy bread perfect for the filling.
  • Butter, for frying Ensures sandwiches get a golden, crispy exterior.
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting Adds an elegant finish.
  • Extra strawberries or syrup (optional) For added decoration and indulgence.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  • Take two slices of bread and spread the cream cheese mixture on each. Layer with thinly sliced strawberries and optionally, a spread of strawberry jam. Top with remaining bread slices to form sandwiches.

Cooking

  • In a skillet, melt a tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add the sandwiches and fry each side for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove sandwiches from the skillet and let them rest for a minute to set the filling. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Keep cream cheese out to soften for easier mixing. You can use brioche for a richer flavor or standard white bread. Add lemon zest for a twist or use other fruits for variation. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
