Ingredients

Base Layer

  • 1 box (about 9 oz) graham crackers Provides the perfect crunchy layer.

Pudding Layer

  • 2.5 cups whole milk Forms the base of the pudding.
  • 1 packet (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix Gives a luxuriously smooth consistency.
  • 1 cup whipped topping (like Cool Whip) Adds airiness to the pudding.
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract Optional, enhances vanilla flavor.

Ganache Topping

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips Rich and indulgent topping.
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream Creates a smooth ganache.
  • 1 pinch salt Enhances the flavors.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Line a 9x9-inch square pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

First Layer

  • Lay one layer of graham crackers in the bottom of the pan, breaking pieces as needed.

Make the Pudding

  • Whisk together the whole milk and instant vanilla pudding mix in a large bowl for about two minutes until thickened.
  • Gently fold in the whipped topping and optional vanilla extract.

Add the Creamy Layer

  • Spread half of the pudding mixture over the graham cracker base.
  • Add another layer of graham crackers on top, then spread the remaining pudding mixture over that.
  • Finish with a final layer of graham crackers.

Make the Ganache

  • Heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan until just simmering.
  • Pour the hot cream over the semi-sweet chocolate chips and let it sit for about two minutes.
  • Stir until smooth and glossy, then add a pinch of salt.

Top it Off

  • Pour the ganache over the final graham cracker layer, spreading it evenly.

Chill

  • Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least four hours, preferably overnight.

Notes

Ensure the pudding mixture is well-whipped for perfect layers. Experiment with flavored pudding mixes for variation. Add crushed nuts or coconut for texture.
