Ingredients

Meat Mixture

  • 1 lb ground beef Juicy and flavorful, this will provide the hearty base for our wraps.
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder For that aromatic, savory kick.
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder Enhances the overall taste with subtle sweetness.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Brings out the richness of the beef.
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper Adds a delightful warmth and depth.

Cheese & Vegetables

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Creamy and tangy, this melts beautifully.
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Adds stretchiness and a mild flavor.
  • 1/4 cup diced tomatoes Fresh and juicy, these give a refreshing contrast.
  • 2 pieces green onions, chopped Adds a mild onion flavor and a pop of color.

Wrap Components

  • 4 large flour tortillas Soft and pliable, perfect for wrapping.
  • ketchup (optional) Sweet and tangy, for a classic touch.
  • mustard (optional) A zesty condiment that adds a bit of kick.
  • pickles (optional) Crunchy and tart, these elevate the burger experience.

Instructions

Cooking the Beef

  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until it’s browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. This should take about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess grease.
  • Once drained, add in the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine and cook for an additional minute, ensuring the beef is flavorful.

Assembling the Wraps

  • Lay a tortilla flat on a clean surface. Sprinkle a generous layer of cheddar and mozzarella cheese across the center.
  • Place a portion of the cooked beef on top of the cheese. Follow this with a sprinkle of diced tomatoes and chopped green onions. For those who enjoy a little extra flavor, drizzle ketchup or mustard over the top.
  • Fold the sides of the tortilla inward, then roll tightly from the bottom to create a wrap. Make sure the filling is enclosed securely.

Grilling the Wraps

  • Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium heat. Place the wraps seam-side down on the skillet and cook until they’re golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Once cooked, slice the wraps in half. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce or enjoy them as is.

Notes

Beef alternatives include ground chicken or turkey for a lighter option. For a vegetarian twist, swap the beef for black beans, lentils, or a mixture of sautéed bell peppers and onions. Experiment with different cheese combinations, or lightly toast the tortillas on a dry skillet for added crispiness.
