Ingredients

Ice Cream Base

  • 2 cups heavy cream Adds rich, luxurious creaminess.
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk Provides sweetness and smooth texture.
  • 2 tablespoons instant coffee For deep coffee flavor. Alternatively, use 1/4 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances flavor profile.
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon Optional, adds warmth to flavor.
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Optional, for a mocha twist.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, instant coffee (or cooled brewed coffee), vanilla extract, and cinnamon until smooth.
  • Gently fold the coffee mixture into the whipped cream using a spatula, ensuring it's fully incorporated.
  • If using, stir in the chocolate chips for bursts of flavor.
  • Transfer the mixture to a freezer-safe container, cover it well, and smooth the top.
  • Place the container in the freezer for 4-6 hours or until firm.

Serving

  • Serve the homemade coffee ice cream in bowls or cones. For a special treat, pour a shot of espresso over it for an affogato experience.

Notes

Tips: Don’t overbeat the cream; experiment with flavors like hazelnut syrup or nutmeg. For a smoother texture, mix coffee and vanilla well into the sweetened condensed milk before folding.
