  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed Ensure it's thawed for easy rolling.
  • 1/3 cup pepper jelly (red or hot-sweet) Choose your preferred level of sweetness.
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar You can substitute with other cheeses if desired.
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives Adds flavor and color.
  • 1 each egg, beaten For egg wash.

  • to taste pinch chili flakes (for garnish) Optional for added heat.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by unrolling the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and shape it into a rectangle.
  • Generously spread a thin layer of pepper jelly evenly over the surface of the pastry.
  • Sprinkle the shredded sharp cheddar evenly across the jelly layer.
  • Scatter the chopped chives over the top.
  • Carefully roll the pastry tightly into a log starting from the long side.
  • Slice the log into 1-inch rounds.

Cooking

  • Brush each pinwheel with the beaten egg.
  • Place the rounds in a preheated air fryer basket lined with parchment paper.
  • Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 8–10 minutes or until they turn golden and crisp.

Garnishing

  • Sprinkle extra chives and optional chili flakes on top while still warm.
  • Serve immediately for the best crunch and heat.

Notes

Make ahead by preparing and freezing the pinwheels before air frying. You can also experiment with different flavors of jellies and cheeses.
