Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sweetened condensed milk, fresh lime juice, lime zest, and vanilla extract. Use a hand mixer or a whisk to beat the mixture until it becomes smooth and well blended.
  • In another bowl, pour in the heavy cream and add the powdered sugar. Whip the cream until stiff peaks form.
  • Gently fold the whipped cream into the lime mixture until fully combined, being careful not to deflate the whipped cream.

Prepare the Graham Cracker Layer

  • Mix the crushed graham crackers with the melted butter until they are evenly coated.

Layering

  • In a trifle dish or a large glass bowl, start layering the ingredients, beginning with a layer of the graham cracker mixture, followed by a layer of the lime cream filling. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used.
  • Finish with a generous layer of whipped cream on top. Garnish with lime slices and extra zest.
  • Cover the trifle with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.

Notes

Choose fresh limes for the best flavor, chill your tools for fluffier whipped cream, and consider adding a layer of toasted coconut or chopped nuts. Adjust sweetness as desired.
