Ingredients

Pasta and Cheese

  • 12 oz Lasagna Noodles Use standard lasagna noodles.
  • 1 cup Parmesan Cheese Grated.
  • 2 cups Mozzarella Cheese Shredded.

Meat and Marinara

  • 1 lb Ground Beef Seasoned as desired.
  • 2 cups Marinara Sauce Store bought or homemade.

Aromatics and Seasonings

  • 3 cloves Garlic Minced.
  • 1 medium Onion Chopped.
  • 1 tbsp Basil Fresh or dried.
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil For sautéing.
  • to taste Salt Essential for seasoning.
  • to taste Pepper Essential for seasoning.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Prepare the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Cooking the Filling

  • In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until softened and fragrant, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned, seasoning with salt, pepper, and basil.

Layering and Baking

  • In a baking dish, layer your ingredients: begin with lasagna noodles, then a portion of beef mixture, a splash of marinara sauce, a sprinkle of Parmesan, and a layer of mozzarella. Repeat until ingredients are used up, finishing with mozzarella on top.
  • Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Serving

  • Allow the lasagna to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
