Cupcake Batter

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tin with paper liners.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder.
  • In another bowl, mix the vegetable oil, buttermilk, eggs, red food coloring, vanilla extract, and white vinegar.
  • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  • Fill the cupcake liners about 2/3 full with batter.

Baking

  • Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the cupcakes cool completely before frosting with cream cheese frosting.
