Instructions

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, garlic powder, black pepper, cornstarch, and sesame oil. Mix well and let marinate for 10-15 minutes.

Cooking

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large wok or pan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove beef and let rest.
  • In the same pan, add another tablespoon of vegetable oil and toss in the diced red and yellow onions. Cook until they soften and begin to caramelize, then add minced garlic, diced carrots, and shredded cabbage. Stir-fry for 2 minutes.
  • Add cooked rice to the pan, break up any clumps, and pour in soy sauce and dark soy sauce. Toss in the cooked beef, stir everything together for 1-2 minutes for flavors to meld.
  • Add chopped green onions and sprinkle chili flakes if desired. Drizzle with sesame oil, stir-fry for another minute, and serve hot.

Notes

Use day-old rice for better texture, cut vegetables uniformly for even cooking, and avoid overcrowding the pan during stir-frying.
