  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast 1 packet to give the dough its lightness.
  • 1 tsp sugar A little sweetness to help activate the yeast.
  • 1 tsp salt Balances the flavors throughout the dough.
  • 1 cup warm water Activate the yeast; should be at 110°F.
  • 2 tbsp olive oil Adds richness and keeps the dough moist.

Toppings

  • 3/4 cup pizza sauce or marinara A tangy layer that complements the toppings.
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese The gooey, melty cheese we all love!
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese Adds a depth of flavor.
  • 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper Fresh and crunchy for a pop of color.
  • 1/2 cup chopped red onion Sweetness and texture for added flavor.
  • 1/3 cup sliced black or kalamata olives A briny bite that enhances every slice.
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano Earthiness that ties all the flavors together.
  • pinch red pepper flakes (optional) Adds a touch of heat for spice lovers.

Instructions

Make the Dough

  • In a mixing bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water and let sit for about 5–10 minutes until frothy.
  • Stir in the olive oil, salt, and flour. Mix and knead until smooth and elastic.
  • Cover the bowl with a clean cloth or plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm spot for about 60 minutes.

Preheat and Prep the Pan

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and grease a large sheet pan generously with olive oil.
  • Once the dough has risen, punch it down and press it into the pan, stretching it to the corners. Allow to rest for 10–15 minutes.

Assemble Your Pizza

  • Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough.
  • Sprinkle the mozzarella and cheddar cheese across the sauce, then top with the veggies and oregano.
  • Add red pepper flakes on top if desired.

Bake to Perfection

  • Bake in the oven for 18–22 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and the crust is golden brown.

Cool Slightly, Slice & Serve

  • Let the pizza rest for about 5 minutes before slicing into thick squares.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For extra flavor, add fresh basil or spinach. The pizza can be made ahead, and the dough can be stored in the fridge overnight. For a crispier crust, pre-bake the dough for 5 minutes before adding toppings.
